Upgrades
With most computer users these days, people are baffled to what a computer actually is?
A computer consists of about half a dozen different components inside the computer box, which normally consists of: a motherboard, CPU (central processing unit), RAM (random-access memory), hard-drive, PSU (power supply unit), CD-ROM drive (or DVD-ROM drive).
Most of the time upgrades are far easier and quicker than a new computer, however in some cases upgrades may have been exhausted and a new computer box may be the best option.
Please contact us for our FREE consultation explaining your upgrade paths.
Most common upgrade paths:
RAM
RAM (random-access memory) is a small computer chip module that can be easily and quickly inserted inside your computer to make it go faster.
If you have found your computer has recently slowed down, more than likely your computer is using virtual memory, which compensates for the lack of RAM.
Virtual memory is a reserved area on your hard-drive, specifically; to compensate when you need more than the currently installed RAM, RAM is approximately 100x faster than a normal hard-drive.
RAM works similar to your kitchen bench, the larger the bench (or the more RAM) you have, the smoother your computer operates, and the more tasks you can do at once.
RAM is the simplest and quickest upgrade. Most modern computers have the ability for installing extra RAM. Desktop & laptop computers both can be upgraded.
There are many generations of RAM and depending on your computer's age, RAM upgrades can start from $50.00 + gst.

Hard-drive
Hard-drives or hard disks or HDD's. This is the storage facility on your computer, very similar to a filing cabinet. Hard-drives come in various shapes sizes and capacities.
Most common hard-drives are referenced in their capacity by gigabytes (GB's). With the digital age most people find themselves running out of capacity and finding their computers run slow after a few years.
A hard-drive upgrade is another simple upgrade path, with our in-house tools we can replicate your current configuration and data onto a new hard-drive without the need for a re-install of Windows.
There are many options for upgrading your computer or laptop, many standard upgrade solutions start from $150.00 + gst.
